LOST in a maze of tweets!

Have you ever thought that searching for live updates on Twitter was too fuzzy and may I say overcrowded. I felt this way when I was following the season finale of LOST (2010) on May 23, 2010. Just then I wondered if there was a dedicated site or forum where I could hear only about LOST. I needed a fragment of information but I was sifting through the maze of mushy information on Twitter & tons of status updates and comments on Facebook. It was ok but not great.

I am so happy I do not have to do this for the FIFA World Cup 2010. Digvijay has been working (oh so hard) on a new product called Tweetbeat. Yes, that is the reason for my numerous ‘home alone’ status updates and tweets. Having seen the website, I have no regrets!!

So if you are following FIFA 2010 check out http://worldcup.tweetbeat.com/

Why I like Tweetbeat?

  1. Its a simple twitter about FIFA. Its not crowded. Its focused entirely on what’s happening on soccer @ NOW.
  2. I can follow news/updates/tweets related to a team or country by clicking on the flags on the right side of the page. Very easy to locate. Not too complicated!
  3. The best part: the cool toolbar on the top of the page that allows me to control the speed at which the news flashes on my screen.

This is enough to get me hooked onto Tweetbeat. I know the FIFA will be another ‘LOST like euphoria’ for millions across the world. If you want to share it with others and be a part of it while playing with your laptop, give Tweetbeat a try. I am not sure how they do it and how its happening (those are the complex problems that Digvijay worries about) but I am enjoying the final product to the fullest. I think someone has to buy me dinner for the endless wait these past weeks!!

If you are a FIFA enthusiast, try it out and share/email/facebook/tweet with friends. I told my dad and he loves soccer. He loved the idea !

That makes me wonder if I can play with it on my IPhone…let me ask Digvijay!! hehe
