Blogging without rules

Is there a rule that says that you should write blog posts everyday?
Well there should be, because if our mind is bumbling with so many ideas and we have the strangest penchant for sharing everything good and bad, until we compel ourselves to write regularly, we would never do it. Would that stiffle innovation? Maybe. Maybe not.
The reality is that there is no such rule. Many times I have an idea to share: like a visit to National Park or advise on a visa or a movie that I watched or a lecture that I attended. But it remains an idea and never makes it to our blog. There are several drafts waiting to be completed! There are countless ideas waiting to be typed into WordPress! Why do the ideas remain ideas for a long time ? Honestly, we would do it but we would lose even more sleep along the way. So in a way it is good that there is no rule about blogging. There is lot of spontaneity.
For the last six weeks I have answered the question, “when are you writing your next post?”, with the simple answer, “Tomorrow” or “Monday”. After that there is a pause. But every time Monday rolled around there are more ideas or no ideas, some other work to be done, or just a preoccupied mind. And that’s just the short list of issues that would cause yet another week of no blogging.
They say that there is dawn after night and that dawn brings hope. There is also a silver lining to every cloud. As a self-motivated blogger, we really do not need to answer anyone or make any rules. That is the power of blogging. An effortless retreat into words, expressions, and thoughts.
A blogger is like an entrepreneur. He runs his own show, he is responsible for his enterprise, and he motivates himself to believe in his idea. For an entrepreneur a business plan appears to be the key to his success. For a blogger, a new post or a fresh idea is equally fulfilling.
This is what I like about blogging. There are no rules. At least I look forward to a next post.
