If we zoom out our focus from Pritam and try to find places where plagiarism has become the core of invention then you will find that this problem is ubiquitous. Generalizing on one culture is wrong but still I think Indian society has accepted plagiarism as a part and parcel of doing business. From very childhood parents generally do not lay stress on invention, discovery and novelty. The main motive is to be best by hooks or by crooks. Our legal system is not strict against cheating, copyrights and patents. It’s very easy to legally get by if one is caught cheating. In fact sometime we (Indians) tag plagiarism as an art and boast it rather than being ashamed of it. This I think is a problem with our society and Pritam is just an example of a perfect member of such society.

Overall it’s a shameful act and should be condemned. I have decided that I will never buy Pritam’s music and since I will never use a pirated version, I guess this is an end of mine and Pritam’s music relationship.

Agree with you even though we don't have a single composer in India who doesn't copy or get inspired. This goes way back to Panchamda who use to flick his music from Boney M (Or should I say inspired by Boney M as the composers like to put it)!!

Feels like we wasted so much money buying all the copied songs.

Hi Ridhima,

I couldnt agree with you anymore. How can he shamelessly copy these songs and get credit for being the most upcoming music director. Shame on him!!
