5.6 Earthquake in California (October 30, 2007): Our account & useful links

I was having dinner at Pasta Pomodoro, Sunnyvale and we decided to walk to a nearby Ice Cream shop (Marble Slab Creamery). Seconds after we entered the shop, I felt that the Ice Cream counter was shaking and I think I saw some cups also slightly move. I thought that the shop was a fancy one with some equipment churning FRESH ICE CREAM!!!! silly me..we were all chatty and did not think too much about our experience.
My friend’s husband called her and said that he had experienced a great tremor in their apartment, with things falling from their fridge. First he thought that there were about 25-30 people running on the roof. He ran out with some important papers and an emergency kit. Now, I was alarmed and talked to Digvijay. His account was like this
“It was a bigger earthquake than what we had felt a couple of months back. Our pictures have fallen off the wall. The flower vase has also fallen. And I just saved the tea cups!!! But mann, this was bad; I kept waiting for it to end. But then when the doors rattled hard, I ran out. People were standing outside in the gallery, baffled and scared………!!”
