Hi Ridhima,

Think I have a different scenario here, basically I am planning to move to US with my wife, where my wife is on H1B visa and am on H4.

Though we tried a lot to get L1 and L2 visas thru her company but couldnt get through due to the recent rejection rate for L1 visas are very high at this time.

I have around 9.5 years of work exp in IT industry and currently looking for job opportunities in India as well in US too. As I read various feedbacks shared over internet, I feel that coming on H4 would be very frustrating for me despite having huge IT experience.

Can you suggest me best possible ways to get my H4 converted into H1 after moving to US and any advise / suggestions to find the job in US with details of companies / consultancies who can file for my H1B.

Your inputs/advise will be of great help.

Regards,

Raj

Hello Jigisha,

Sorry for the delay in replying. I'd recommend that you visit our forum: http://h4-visa.com/ for more information and posting questions.

1.Yes, your plan sounds perfect. Please go ahead and fill the form and pay the fees. Book the visa interview date in advance. You both can go together so please follow the instructions in the DS 160 and pay the fee.

2.Yes you should go together.

3. Visa stamping times vary. People have reported that they got the passport within a week. Prepare well. Take all the paperwork needed.

4. Keep an eye on the VFS website. Book the interview date as soon as you see an availability. Interview dates tend to get filled quickly so please monitor that website.

Jigisha, please come back and post questions asked during your H4 visa interview. It will help others as well..:)

I wish you all the best and many congratulations for your wedding!

Thanks,
Ridhima

Hi Ridhima,

I got married in June this year. I am on H1. My husband joined me on Spet 1st 2011. He is here as dependent on H4. Is there any possibility of him to obtain a cash paid job on H4? He cannot get his H4 converted to H1. So can you please suggest if we have any options? I dont find any good links which helps me with the same.

Thanks & Regards

Hi
I'm a H1b visa holder working in USA.Now my husband from India went to an interview to Chennai consulate on 06/16/2011,but his visa has refused under section (212)(A)(4) with the reason of my"short of salary". & it was true ,my salary was low(around $22000 for part time job) .But after this incident my employer rised my salary ($52000 for full time job). Now he is going to re-apply from Delhi.(Because transportation for Delhi is easer than Chennai. Is it okay? May he re-apply from Delhi or he has to re-apply from same center only?1 more question does he need any additional sponsorship? As I think if he get his H4 visa,it should be on the base of my pay & employer's business strenght, any other sponsorship doesn't work over there. Please if you assist me in this matter,it will be really helpful to me.
Thank you

Hello N,

Perhaps you should browse through this forum : http://h4-visa.com/content/post-questions-asked-your-h4-visa-interview

This discussion should also be relevant for you: http://h4-visa.com/content/h4-visa-husbands

If you have any specific question, just post here or on the forum. I will try my best to help you.

Complete your paperwork and understand what the H4 visa is all (not working for example) about and I think you should be fine.

Thanks,
Ridhima
