Movie Review: Finding Neverland
February 12th, 2006 | by Digvijay Lamba |Recently Johny Depp has been doing these crazy sort of roles including Pirates Of the Caribbean and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that are very popular but when I see them, they don’t really end up at the top of the list. Finding Neverland is an exception. Maybe it’s because it is inspired by a real story or because Peter Pan has definetely been one my favourite reads at some point. Whatever the reason, the portrayal of an artist and how he gets his inspiration to create a revolutionary and immensly popular series in Peter Pan is a story worth being told and one that I loved to see.
The movie keeps up with the quirks of peter pan like the role of “Peter Pan” is always played by a girl on stage. I have heard parts of story are changed like the fact that when Sylvia and Barrie meet her husband hadn’t actually died.
Overall, the movie is well picturised and it shows the dream world as it is being created by JM Barrie merged with the real world he is living and pulls it off really well.
