The IITians : Sandipan Deb

June 26th, 2004 | by Digvijay Lamba |

“The Story of a Remarkable Indian Institution and How Its Alumni Are
Reshaping the World”. Thats how the cover describes the book. Thats how it
is. Being an IITian myself, I will review it as one of them. And for us,
this book is a look back into times spent in college. It is nostalgia and
makes you laugh at how well he potrays the things that made our world but
we can never explain. The tellus, the maggus, the dreams, the letdowns.
It’s a story of all of us.

Plus, its a story of what happens after and what went before. A collection
of interviews, anecdotes and authours experience with the great Indian
brand of IIT, the book is a good look at the reality of it. As an IITian
read it for nostalgia. As someone who wants to understand an IITian, read
it for an insight into the life that made us what we are. For non-IITians,
its a story of brand and reality.
